about

Here I am worried about releasing more remakes into the world, but looks like I was up to such even from the earliest days. This take is in Am, while the 1984 version is in a lower (too low?) Em. My singing had improved a bit and I was learning where to stick my voice in my songs. Plus, I'd started a short-lived (and sadly un-gigged) band with Steve Green. He's all over this track and you can feel the difference between this version and the original "boy and his basement" take. This is the only 80's era track on Antronica 2 that uses an original mix, as this is the only one I could find. It's a really clean recording for having been done on 4-track, and I can assure you all the other old material was quite hiss-free. My Yamaha used Dolby C, and I suppose that made the difference.
