about

My heart was in the right place, but I do cringe ever so slightly at the earnestness on display! Still, I kept the original vocals for this one, from 1986, I think. The song was the closing number for my third cassette, Back To Balmain. I'd moved away from straight synth pop, and I'm hearing the influence of Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel all over this track. I still love Kate, but don't know what to make of PG these days. Anyway, the instrumentation is richer, more varied on this one, with proper piano and a bit of real snare drum. But that Prophet 5, right? Steve Green sings harmonies. Steve was one of my great singing partners, we had such a chemistry, but he was always miles ahead of me and I think our work together only helped push me to be a better musician. But that Prophet 5, right?
